Things to See & Do
This picturesque bay located on the west of the Island has beautiful black sandy beaches and is the location where the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, starring Jonny Depp (Revenge of the Black Pearl & Dead Man’s Chest) were filmed. The bay has peaceful waters and is very popular with divers.
Tobago Cays
During the height of the season, there will be hundreds of boats in this anchorage, which is noted for it’s peacefulness and beauty. The Cays have been declared a wildlife reserve by the government and all visitors are urged to preserve and protect this unique natural resource. No fishing, jet skis, or anchoring of dinghies is allowed. The Tobago Cays are just a 40 minute boat ride from Buccament Bay.
The Botanical Gardens
This Botanical is the oldest in the Western Hemisphere. It contains the very first breadfruit tree brought to the Caribbean by Captain Bligh. This garden is a reflection of the country - well maintained, beautiful and inviting.
Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary
On the Island of Bequia, which is the largest of the Grenadines. Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary is saving the endangered Hawksbill turtles from extinction. The Sanctuary is making a big difference in the survival of these creatures with over 2000 young turtles released in the last 12 years.
La Soufrière Saint Vincent

At the northwestern tip of the island are the villages where the Yellow Caribs settled following the Carib Wars. These picturesque villages are still home to a large number of Vincentians of Carib descent. Pass through the villages of Orange Hill, Overland and Sandy Bay and Owia, this is where the Owia Salt Pond is located. Here the Atlantic Ocean cascades over lava peaks and ridges into a large bathing pool with a breathtaking view of the mountains in the background.
